Apple Crunch Pitas
Found in Sweet Niblets Rockin’ Food For Any Meal cookbook
2 whole wheat or regular pita bread rounds
1 medium apple, pear, or peach
¼ cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ cup dried cherries or dried cranberries
¼ cup granola cereal
- On the cutting board, use a sharp knife to cut across each pita round to make 2 halves (4 halves) total.
- Use and apple corer/slicer or sharp knife to care and slice the apple. If you used the corer/slicer, use the sharp knife to apple slices more thinly.
- Put yogurt and cinnamon in a small bowl. Stir with wooden spoon to mix. Put apple slices and dried cherries in each pita bread half. Sprinkle each with some of the granola. Spoon yogurt mixture over granola. Serve at once.
