Back to School Time

Back to school time is upon us once again.  This means lots of shopping, bargain hunting, teachers preparing their rooms and plans are being made for the year.  Today when a friend of mine posted this picture it hit me like a ton of bricks.  This will be the 2nd year in a row that I’m not in the classroom.  I lost my job due to budget cuts at the end of the of 10-11 school year. In an effort to support my family I turned to coupons to help make up for the loss of income.  While it hasn’t been easy it has been doable and our cabinets are overflowing with Health and Beauty Items, food items and more the household than I could have ever imagined.

I have gotten lots of freebies in the mail, signed up for coupons on this site, and that site and then one day decided to start a  web page for my family and friends.  That webpage is now gone and I moved everything over to this site.  I went from helping friends and family to helping others to pass the time.  Now I am know as a “blogger” instead of a teacher.  I how ever don’t make as much money as I did when I was teaching (not that they bring home a bank roll either.) If I am lucky I can pay one of the bills that we have coming in with the money I make from blogging.

But blogging is a lot like teaching, you don’t do it because of the money (or lack there of), you do it because you want to help someone in anyway you can.  I miss teaching and hope that I can find a teaching job but so far no luck in that department. I don’t really think of myself as a blogger but sometimes life throws you lemons and you have to make lemonade which is what I have done.

So when you print coupons, sign up for an awesome deal or whatever the case may be remember that I don’t post it to make a dollar (or less).  I post those deals because I’ve signed up for them, trust the company, and am trying to help each one of you save money the best way I know how.

I appreciate each and everyone of you that here to support me.  Without you I couldn’t do what I do and I wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate you!!
