Body Media Link Review

You all know that I am a part of Team #Cinchspiration and am trying to make myself better as well as healthier.  I was given a chance to review the BodyMedia’s LINK Armband which is a Fit On-Body Wellness Monitor. The first night I got it I set it up and was ready to go within 10 minutes of it being in my house.  The booklet they include helps you get everything set right up and is very user friendly.  If I can do it, you can do it, trust me.

I set up my Body Media account online and was amazed at the ease of setting up the account there as well. You can set goals, preferences and more all with just a few clicks.  The best thing about it is that it is personalized to you. There are 8 initial questions to fill out and most of them are multiple choice.  After those 8 questions you can then set goals, broader topics are lose weight, maintain weight, or get active.  Depending on where you are in your fitness/nutrition lifestyle depends on which you should choose.  There are even helpful hints to guide you in the right direction.

With the Link you can even pair it with your Android or iOS operating system.  That way you are always in the know of how many steps you have taken.   You can also input food using your phone or the computer and it is all linked together, so everything is always current.  Because it has four sensors to gather data they have the most accurate system out there.  I have worn my Link Body Media armband for almost a month and am in love with the results.

I leave it on all of the time unless I am showering or in the pool so that way I know how many calories I am burning all of the time.  After I’m done swimming I can manually enter how long I swam so that way those calories are included as well.  I am also getting more sleep because it tells me how much I am sleeping which I never thought was that important.  I try for 8 hours but not always do I make it.

Another great feature is the exercise feature.  I have mine set up so that I have to do 30 minutes of exercise a day. If I go over I consider it extra exercise which is what you really want.  The Link by Body Media makes it very easy to manage what you are eating, exercising and reaching attainable goals. Weight loss is a lifestyle change and one that takes time but with the Link you  take off the pounds!! I have been following the Team #Cinchspiration diet along with using the Link and I have lost 9 pounds in less than 3 weeks!! If I can do it, you can do it too!!

Here is what a report looks like. This particular day I burned more calories than I require myself, I consumed a little less than my 1,200 calories as well.  But if it’s one thing I’ve learned, you don’t eat if you are not hungry.  I also had a calorie deficit of 1,606 and I want at least 1,000 which helps me loose the weight.  This particular day I walked as well as swam so I had more physical activity than normal.  Steps taken for the day was 5,237 and my goal for each day is 5,000 which is sometimes harder to meet than others depending on the day.  I also fit in my eight hours of sleep that day.

The only feature that I would like to see added to the Link is a place to track your water intake.   But it isn’t a deal breaker for me; the Body Media armband is fabulous! I would be lost without it now.
