Laundry Soap is one of the most expensive things to buy and with coupons its cheaper. But I have found a way to make my own homemade laundry soap to use to save even more. I use it on bed sheets, towels, and clothes at it costs less than 5 cents per load!! This is a huge money saver for my family and I. I still buy laundry soap for the work clothes that get oily, greasy and just plain gross. But this is one of the best things I have done to shave money out of our budget.

This is all I use Arm and Hammer Washing Soda, Borax (any brand), Ivory soap (Fels Naptha also works).
Here’s my recipe:
- 2 cups Washing Soda
- 2 cups Borax
- 1 Bar Ivory Soap
I grate my Ivory soap in my food processor to make it faster. I also grate 3 bars of Ivory at a time so that way I only have to clean up once.

Pour it all into the big bowl on the left and stir.

Then pour it into an airtight container to use as its time for laundry. Or you can use half a scoop in a laundry jug lid. Super easy to make and a great way to save money. There are also liquid versions but I like the dry version better. It is also HE washer safe!!
I even made some super cute laundry soap containers by reusing my Cinch powder canisters, scrapbooking paper and tape. I even use the scoop from the Cinch powder to measure my laundry soap. Use any kind of round container like these to make your own!!
