Labor Day Fun–Apples for the SMSL household!!

Happy Labor Day!! Today the SMSL household is going to be working up the apples that we picked yesterday.  My sisters, sister in law, and myself will be making some great memories together today.  We are making applesauce, apple pie filling and who knows what else as the day progresses.  I plan on snapping a few pictures and showing you all what we do when its time to preserve the fruits of the season.  We save lots of money each year by putting up fresh fruits for the rest of the year.

We grew up canning all kinds of things with our mom and our Nana so its just a way of life for us.  We control how many additives are added to our products and eating fresh fruit in the winter is very rewarding.  Enjoy your Labor Day with your family and friends!!
